Primary 7
Coortin'
A young lad and a young lass, aged, 16, fell madly in love. The youngsters were named Fredrick and Henrietta. Henrietta has a snub nose, a cute little smile and pearly white teeth. Her hair is silky smooth and mousy brown. Henrietta hopes one day she will be married to Fredrick. He has an aqualine nose and a cheeky smile.
One Monday morning the couple met at the comer shop ready to start their first day at work. Henrietta was starting work at the Broswell's Linen Factory; a large red brick building with seven smoking chimneys and blocked windows. She went in uniform, which was a brown shawl, and sandy coloured boots. Her apron was blue and hung over her brown skirt. She wore her hair in two plaits that hung over her ears. Fredrick, on the other hand was wearing a suede jacket, yellowish trousers matched with yellow shoes. Fredrick was also going to his first day at the coal mine.
The couple decided to take the long road to work across the Lagoon. As they walked the swooshing and the breezy wind followed them in the air gliding smoothly and sweetly.
Suddenly Fredrick stops Henrietta by touching her elbow gently; Henrietta wonders what is wrong and asks Fredrick calmly, "Are you ok?"
Fredrick replies, "Yes but there's something I want to ask you. Henrietta will, will you marry me?"
"Yes, yes I will."
The couple gaze into each other's eyes. They hear the sound of the bell for work; they agree to meet at lunch.
Weeks pass by and Fredrick is doing really well at work. They have set a date for the wedding now that they can afford it.
The End.
