May Special Assembly

P6 pupils enacted the Titanic tragedy.

Through songs and dance the pupils told of the happiness and optimism with which the passengers, rich and poor, left our shores.

They told of the horror, that in order not to block the sun for the first class passengers' afternoon walk, many of the lifeboats were removed and so there were not enough lifeboats for everyone on board.

They told of how the poorer passengers obeyed instructions and stayed below decks and couldn't get out of the sinking ship.

They told how the lessons from the tragedy caused many improvements to ship and passenger safety.
